U.P. Residents Appointed To State Boards

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Several U.P. residents have been appointed to a variety of state boards.

    Bill Nordeen of Gwinn has been named to to the Iron Industry Museum Advisory Board.

    Dale Hemmila of Ishpeming and Larry Lankton of Houghton have also been reappointed to the board that advises the D-N-R on the Negaunee Township-based Michigan Iron Industry Museum.

    They will serve four-year terms.

    James Duke of Munising has been reappointed to a four-year term on the Michigan Trails Advisory Council which reviews Michigan’s motorized and non-motorized trails.

    Thomas Buckingham, of Newberry, has been appointed to the Sault Ste. Marie Bridge Authority.

    The Authority is a joint organization between the U.S. and Canada overseeing the international bridge in the Sault.

    Buckingham will serve at the pleasure of the governor.
