Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – One of two suspects involved in a weekend meth lab bust in Ishpeming has been arrested while the other remains at large.

A man and woman involved in the early Sunday morning incident were taken to UP Health System-Bell for medical treatment and left the hospital before they were supposed to be released.

The woman was arrested around 10:00 o’clock last night after being located in Marquette.

Earlier on Sunday, UPSET detectives assisted Ishpeming Police with an active meth lab at an apartment at 655 Maurice Street after authorities were notified of a possible meth lab at the location.

Officers entered a common area of the building and found components related to the manufacture of meth.

Officers then observed, through a window of one of the apartments, an unresponsive woman on the floor.

They entered the residence to check on the woman’s wellbeing.

While in the residence the officer’s eyes and throats became irritated and they immediately became disoriented and nauseated.

The officers were able to remove the woman and a man from another room of the apartment.

Both suspects and the officers were hospitalized for exposure to harmful gases related to the manufacture of meth.

UPSET detectives cleared the scene and the investigation is continuing.
