Crushing Cold Snap Continues Across U.P.

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Arctic air with temperatures well below zero and gusty west to northwest winds brought in wind chills as low as 40 below zero this morning around the the U.P.

    The National Weather Service in Negaunee Township says the cold will continue with wind chills tonight as low as 30 below zero and periods of dangerously low wind chills expected through late this week.

    Lake effect snow showers and blowing snow is expected with the potential for several inches of snow in the snow belt areas east of Marquette tomorrow night into Wednesday.

    The low wind chills can produce frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 25 minutes.
