Three Sentenced In Federal Court In Marquette

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Three people arrested in an investigation by the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team and the DEA into drug distribution into the U.P. have been sentenced in Federal Court in Marquette.

    43-year-old Damon Belcher of Detroit, 36-year-old Corrie Ruth of Flint and 41-year-old Stephanie Hatch of Lake Linden were all sentenced for their roles in conspiring to distribute heroin and crack cocaine in the Houghton area.

    Belcher was sentenced to 46 months, Ruth was sentenced to 41 months and Hatch was sentenced to 33 months. All three were also sentenced to 3 years of supervised release after their prison terms.

    They were arrested after an investigation in Escanaba and Houghton in 2015 into couriers and dealers from Detroit and Flint bringing heroin and crack cocaine into the Upper Peninsula, where they stayed with local residents as the drugs were distributed.
