Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – An Upper Michigan Michigan man has been to 20 years in prison in North Dakota for murder.

33-year-old Ryan Anderson of Iron River was charged with the stabbing death of Christopher King, also of Iron River, at a work camp near Tioga, North Dakota in 2013.

Anderson was also given 10 years of supervised probation following his release.

Anderson was convicted last August for stabbing King twice in the chest and twice in the abdomen after a night of drinking last year.

    Both were oilfield workers.

Anderson’s attorney said his client was defending himself against King, who choked him earlier in the night prior to the stabbing.
