Marquette County Man Killed In Weekend Accident

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) –  State Police at the Negaunee Post say a Marquette County man died in a single-vehicle accident this weekend.

Around 3:30 yesterday morning, a passerby found a pickup truck in the ditch on it’s side on US-41 near Tioga Creek about a mile east of King’s Lake Road in Baraga County’s Covington Township with an unresponsive person inside.

Troopers say the pickup had been eastbound on US-41 in the four lanes in the Tioga Creek area when it went out of control on the wet and snow-covered highway, crossed the center line, struck a snow embankment and rolled over. T

he lone occupant and driver was identified as 56-year-old Matthew Davidson of Champion.

He was pronounced dead by authorities.
