Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) –  Marquette City Police are reporting recent incidents of two types financial fraud.

They are currently investigating reports of counterfeit $5 and $20 bills being used in stores and restaurants in and around Marquette.

Individuals and businesses are being urged to closely inspect money used in cash transactions and if a counterfeit bill is found, report it to the authorities.

Police also say that over 200 credit cards have been hacked in the Marquette area.

Anyone who may have used their credit card over the last year at the Blue Link Party Store in Marquette is advised to check their statements carefully and should get a new card.

Officers say the identity breach has been stopped by investigators.
