Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Marquette County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash yesterday afternoon in Sands Township.
It happened just after 1:30 p.m. on M-553 near County Road 480.
Deputies say a vehicle, driven by 19-year-old Stephanie Lukkonen of Gwinn, turned into the path of an oncoming car driven by 19-year-old Ethan Ledford of Marquette.
Lukkonen was taken to UP Health System-Marquette for medical evaluation and was later found to be at fault for the accident.
She was cited by deputies for Failure to Yield.
Ledford was not injured and both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
