Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Snow showers and gusty winds created whiteout conditions around Marquette County yesterday that resulted in several traffic accidents through the day.

State Police at the Negaunee Post responded to a pair of simultaneous accidents at the Wal-Mart intersection on US-41 in Marquette Township that involved four vehicles.

Other accidents reported included a single-vehicle rollover on US-41 South near the rock cut by Harvey, several vehicles sliding off of roads and other minor fender-benders.

Police say whiteout conditions were a factor in most of the crashes and people were also driving too fast road conditions.

No serious injuries were reported and police are reminding drivers to drive slow when poor conditions exist.
