Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – 110th District State Representative Scott Dianda has introduced a House resolution supporting the Marquette County Road Commission’s appeal of the EPA denial of a permit to build County Road 595 in Marquette County.
The Road Commission says road is needed so that trucks hauling materials from the Eagle Mine in Northern Marquette County can drive to its processing plant in Humboldt, instead of on county roads through population centers including the City of Marquette.
The Calumet Democrat is joined by 109th District State Representative John Kivela of Marquette and State Senator Tom Casperson of Escanaba in support of building the road.
Dianda says he believes the building of the road would benefit the region economically and would increase overall traffic safety.
