Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The City of Marquette’s Water Department is starting fire hydrant flushing in portions of the city today.

The system maintenance is being done east of Fourth Street and west of Lakeshore Boulevard and will run until August 31st.

Residents who may experience discolored water at times should run the water for 5 to 10 minutes or until it is clear.

The system will not lose pressure, therefore the water will be safe to use.
