Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Senator Tom Casperson and 109th District State Representative John Kivela have introduced concurrent resolutions of support for the Marquette County Road Commission’s appeal of the EPA’s denial to approve the building of County Road 595.

The measures join a resolution of support for the appeal authored by 110th District State Representative Scott Dianda of Calumet.

Casperson and Kivela say building of the road is supported by a wide group of interests, individuals, stakeholders and elected leaders.

The road would decrease and divert commercial heavy truck traffic from population areas in the county by connecting County Road AAA in Michigamme Township with U.S. 41 in Humboldt Township.

The Road Commission says the EPA denial prevents them from their efforts to provide a safe and efficient road system for Marquette County.
