Manistique, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – One person is reported in critical condition today after a swimming incident yesterday in Lake Michigan in Manistique.

Rescuers were called out yesterday about a 10-year-old boy struggling to get to shore around 5:30 p.m.

Authorities found three people in the water when they arrived on scene.

Reports say the father of two young boys had gone into the lake when the boys began to struggle in high waves.

All three were rescued from the lake.

The boys did not require any treatment, but the 53-year-old father was taken to Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital and later airlifted to U.P. Health system-Marquette.

No names have been released.
