Gladstone, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Michigan Department of Transportation has started up another U.P. road project today in Delta County.

M-DOT is reconfiguring the US-2/Lakeshore Drive intersection in Gladstone.

The new design will slow traffic as it leaves the highway as part of an effort to increase safety.

Officials say the $600,000 project will also allow for future construction of a non-motorized trail from Gladstone to Escanaba.

The project will require lane closures and traffic shifts and is expected to be completed late next month.
