Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette City Commission has passed changes to the city’s fireworks ordinance.

At their regular meeting last night, Commissioners unanimously adopted the ordinance, which will allow personal fireworks to be used over 10 recognized holidays such as the Fourth of July, Labor Day and Memorial Day.

The new policy will allow the fireworks to be used the day before, the day of and the day after the holiday.

City officials say the changes were made after numerous recent complaints of personal fireworks being set off through the summer months.
