Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette County Road Commission is continuing to challenge the United States Environmental Protection Agency over the denial of a construction permit for County Road 595.

The Road Commission says the plan would create a 21-mile road between County Road Triple-A and US-41 in Humboldt Township to cut down mine truck traffic in the City of Marquette and on US-41.

The Commission says they have partnered with the Pacific Legal Foundation in seeking a judicial review of the EPA’s denial of the permit.

They say they hope to have the decision remanded back to the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality.
