Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Preparations are set in downtown Marquette for the kickoff of the UP200 and Midnight Run sled dog races.
Portions of Washington Street are closed off for the start of the races and will remain closed until 2:00 o’clock tomorrow morning.
Opening ceremonies will begin at 6:15 tonight at the corner of Washington and Fourth with the first musher for the UP200 scheduled out of the gate at 7:00 p.m.
The start of the Midnight Run will follow at 8:30 p.m.
Several events and activities are planned for tonight in downtown Marquette for spectators to enjoy along with the starts of the races.
