Dianda Praises Western U.P. Community Grants

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – 110th District State Representative Scott Dianda is praising State House approval of a bill allocating Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund grants to seven western U.P. communities.

The Calumet Democrat says the funds will be used to help the communities improve several parks, playgrounds and trails.

Highlights of the funding include $210,400 to Ontonagon County for improvements to Ontonagon County Park, $80,000 to the City of Houghton to purchase the Central Houghton Greenspace Nature Area, and $45,000 to Arvon Township for improvements to its Waterfront Park.

The measure is now before the Senate Committee on Appropriations.
