Sault Ste. Marie, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The suspect in an armed robbery of a Sault Ste. Marie convenience store on Monday night has been arraigned.
The Chippewa County prosecutor says a 15-year-old male was arraigned in 91st District Court on one count of armed robbery.
Reports say the suspect, armed with a pellet gun, walked into the Baldwin’s Superette on Swinton Street around 5:30 Monday evening, threatened the clerk and left with about $500 cash.
Sault Police spent nearly three hours searching before they found and arrested the suspect.
He is currently being held at an area juvenile detention center.
No name is being released by authorities due to his juvenile status.
