Traffic Stop Gets U.P. Man Arrested For Drugs

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Marinette County, WI Sheriff’s deputies seized a large amount of illegal drugs from a U.P. man.

The 44-year-old Kingsford man was stopped yesterday for speeding in Middle Inlet, WI. During the stop, the deputy smelled an odor of marijuana on the man.

While the suspect was outside of the vehicle a baggie of cocaine fell out of his right pant leg.

While the suspect attempted to destroy the baggie of cocaine, a baggie of heroin fell out of his pant leg.

A search of the man’s vehicle found marijuana, hashish and multiple types of drug paraphernalia.

Approximately 2 ounces of cocaine and 1 ounce of heroin were seized.

The suspect was lodged in the Marinette County Jail and his name is being withheld pending formal charges.
