GLR News Update

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Alger County Sheriff’s Department says dangerous conditions have developed near the Grand Island Ice Caves.

In a statement released yesterday, the department says recent warm and sunny days have created conditions in which the ice is dangerous to approach.

There is a threat of falling ice near the caves as well as slushy conditions developing on the ice covering the lake and it is unsafe to approach the areas.
