Ishpeming Township, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Police from the Negaunee Post responded to a two-vehicle accident yesterday afternoon in Ishpeming Township.
It happened around 12:20 p.m. at the intersection of US-41 and Cooper Lake Road.
Troopers say an SUV driven by 29-year-old Gavin Gibson of Montana pulled out from Cooper Lake Road and turned eastbound on US-41 when he was hit by a westbound pickup driven by 51-year-old Frederick Furneaux of Lapeer.
Gibson’s SUV was hit in the driver’s side door and rolled onto it’s side.
Gibson was hospitalized with critical injuries, while Furneaux and a passenger, his wife, were treated for minor injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.
