Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Marquette County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash yesterday afternoon between a motorcycle and a car.

The accident happened around 4:30 p.m. on County Road 550, just south of Harlow Lake Road in Marquette Township.

A car, driven by 25-year-old Stephen Lemerond of Marquette, was stopped on the east shoulder of the roadway.

Lemerond said he pulled out in an attempt to make a u-turn and crossed into the path of a motorcycle operated by 23-year-old Kyle Bloch of Marquette.

Bloch attempted to miss the car, but was unable to avoid the collision.

Bloch was taken to UP Health System-Marquette for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies say he was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

Lemerond was not injured and was found to be at fault for failing to yield the right of way.
