GLR News Update

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Ishpeming Firefighters say a toddler alerted a family about a house fire yesterday afternoon.

Fire crews were called out to 216 N. Fifth Street just after 4:30 p.m.

Daniel and Amber Featherstone and their 3 children were home at the time of the fire.

A two year old that Mrs. Featherstone was babysitting alerted the family to a fire on the porch.

Investigators believe the cause was careless use of smoking materials.

The fire was quickly put out and no injuries were reported.

The Red Cross and Marquette County Pigs & Heat fire relief fund will assist the family.
