110th District State Representative Scott Dianda

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – 110th District State Representative Scott Dianda has introduced a bill requiring M-DOT to give local governments the first chance to bid on snow removal equipment at auction before being offered to the general public.

Dianda says this is a reintroduction of a bill from last year’s legislative session that unanimously passed out of the House.

The Calumet Democrat says some local governments are still using snow plows from the 1970s.

He says older M-DOT equipment is still newer than what some communities have to use, so it makes sense to allow them the first chance to bid on the equipment.
