NMU Football Player Death Investigated

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Officials at Northern Michigan University say a member of the university’s football team has died.

    Sophomore Anthony Herbert of downstate Lapeer was found dead yesterday morning in his residence hall.

    An investigation continues into the cause of Herbert’s death, but reports say foul play and drug or alcohol use is not suspected.

    The 20-year-old, 6’4″ 315-pound lineman played in all 11 games this past season and earned a spot on the all-GLIAC academic team.
