Ishpeming Woman Sentenced For Cocaine

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A Marquette County woman has been sentenced to over 12 years in federal prison on cocaine charges.

    32-year-old Rachel Hanson of Ishpeming was sentenced on a charge of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

    During sentencing, Hanson, a mother of three, was determined to be a career offender due to an extensive criminal history, including three prior felony drug convictions.

    Hanson was arrested after authorities executed a search warrant at her Ishpeming home in January of 2014 and found drugs and money.

    Hanson admitted to selling cocaine and heroin in Ishpeming in 2013 and 2014.

    After her release, she faces three years of court supervision.
