Manistique Man Enters Plea In Assault Case

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A sentencing date has been set for a Manistique man who plead no contest to charges of felony assault and criminal sexual conduct.

58-year-old Thomas Becks Jr. entered the pleas to one count of Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm Less Than Murder and one count of 4th Degree C-S-C.

The charges are in connection to his arrest for cutting the throat of a 31-year-old Manistique woman last year.

The woman was treated at Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital and released.

Three other charges were dropped as part of the plea bargain.

Becks will be sentenced on May 7th.

He was originally facing up to life in prison for attempted murder.
