Severe Weather Also Hits Lower Michigan

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The strong storm system overnight also produced severe weather in parts of lower Michigan.

Wind gusts over 50 MPH were reported in Muskegon where trees were uprooted, power lines were downed and buildings in the downtown area were damaged.

Many locations in the western half of Lower Michigan had between one and three inches of rain and ping-pong ball sized hail was reported.

Also in northern Illinois, a large half-mile wide tornado killed at least one and possibly injured 12 others.
