Suspects Sentenced In Luce County Drug Case

Newberry, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Two suspects arrested in a drug bust in Newberry earlier this year appeared in Luce County Court yesterday.

41-year-old Kenneth Collins plead guilty to one count of delivery of heroin, less than 50 grams, and one count of delivery of a counterfeit substance believed to be morphine.

He will be sentenced on June 2nd. 26-year-old Sara Nelson was charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, less than 50 grams.

She was sentenced to 11 months in jail and was credited for time served.

Collins and Nelson were arrested with 37-year-old Joy Derusha in January in connection with maintaining a drug house and selling drugs within 1,000 feet of a school.

Derusha will also be sentenced on June 2nd.
