Train Derails In Dickinson County

Norway Township, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Police at the Iron Mountain Post say a train derailed last night in Dickinson County’s Norway Township.

The Canadian National train derailed just before 8:30 p.m., central time, near Sturgeon Mill Road.

10 of the train’s 29 railcars derailed in the incident.

Authorities say the railcars were empty at the time of the accident and no spills or injuries were reported.

Investigators are currently attempting to determine the cause of the derailment.
