Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Poor visibility and slippery roads were factors in two accidents yesterday in Marquette County.

The first accident happened around 8:00 a.m. on County Road 550 near Harlow Lake Road when a southbound car driven by Timothy Westfall of Big Bay slid out of control, crossed the center line and collided with a semi hauling truck.

No injuries were reported.

The second accident happened around 11:30 a.m. on M-553 about a half mile south of County Road NU in Sands Township.

A southbound pickup truck, driven by Wynoma Vandecaveye of Perkins was following a semi-truck when blowing and falling snow caused a whiteout and the pickup went off of the road and crashed into a ditch.

Vandecaveye was hospitalized for back injuries
