Negaunee Township, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Marquette County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident yesterday evening on US-41 at Midway Drive in Negaunee Township.
The accident happened just after 6:00 p.m. when a 2004 Dodge Caravan, driven by 25-year-old Kayla Houghton of Marquette, pulled out from Midway Drive to head east on US-41.
The minivan struck a westbound 2003 Ford pickup driven by 65-year-old Donald Mroz of Republic.
Two young children in the minivan were not injured. Deputies say they were properly restrained in the vehicle.
Some minor injuries were reported by a passenger in the pickup, but treatment at the scene was refused. Houghton was ticketed for failing to yield the right of way.
