Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette City Commission has voted to repair and re-open a damaged portion of Lakeshore Boulevard.

The section of the popular road between Wright Street and Hawley Street has been closed due to flood damage and erosion since being hit by a gale last September.

Commissioners voted unanimously at their regular meeting last night to allocate $45,000 to make the repairs and re-open the road temporarily as soon as possible.

The funding for the project will come from the city’s Capital Outlay Street Improvement Maintenance Project Fund.

A larger project to permanently repair the roadway is also being developed by the City.
