Lansing, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – An Upper Michigan lawmaker’s bill to assist rural small businesses has been approved in the State House.

110th District State Representative Scott Dianda’s bill allows businesses that currently sell beer and wine to also sell gas.

The bill waives a $10,000 inventory requirement for businesses located in rural areas with extremely small populations.

The Calumet Democrat says making motor fuel more available will help rural communities around the state.

The bill now goes to the Senate for consideration.
