Houghton, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Michigan Tech University in Houghton has extended the contract of President Glenn Mroz.

The University’s Board of Trustees voted to extend Mroz’s contract through June 30th, 2018.

His current contract was set to expire on June 30th of 2016.

According to a statement from the university, the extension comes after two years of benchmarking salaries against other high-research universities.

The new agreement raises Mroz’s base salary to $344,000 and can be renewed on a year-to-year basis.
