Wakefield, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A Wakefield man arrested Saturday night after a standoff with police was arraigned yesterday.

30-year-old Tony Compton is charged with four counts of Assaulting/Resisting and Obstructing an Officer and one count of 2nd Degree Child Abuse in connection with the incident at his residence in the city.

Reports say Compton was distraught and suicidal and would not leave the residence, threatening to shoot police if they approached the home.

Compton also had his 3-year-old son with him, but eventually released the child.
