MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) –  Here are election results for several key races and ballot proposals that we have been tracking in areas around Marquette County.

These results are with 100 percent of precincts reporting as of 6:00 am on Wednesday, November 7, 2012.

Cheryl Hill took  Marquette County Probate Judge.

For the Marquette County Board, Paul Arsenault, Dem., won District 2, Democratic candidate, Bruce Heikkila won District 3, Gerry Corkin, Dem., took District 4, District 5 was won by Deborah Pellow, Dem., and Greg Seppanen, Dem., took District 6.

Marquette Township Treasurer went to Democratic candidate, Ernest Johnson, Dem. Four trustee seats open for the township went to Jerome LaRue, Rep., Danny Pompo, Dem., Lyn Durant, Dem., and Dianna Truscott, Dem.

Marquette City Commission seats went to Sara Cambensy and Michael Coyne.  Two seats on Marquette City Board of Light & Power went to Karen Kimar Johnson and John Prince.

Marquette City Charter Proposal was voted in.

For Ishpeming: Three seats for the City Council went to Mike Tonkin, Dave Williams and Claudia Demarest. Mike Tall took City Mayor. Ishpeming Township Clerk went to Susan Jandron, Dem.

Three seats for the Negaunee City Council wen to Michael Haines, Diana Menhennick and Mike Van Straten.

Democratic candidate, Gary Walker, took the Chocolay Township Supervisor. Chocolay Township Clerk went to Max Engle, Dem.

Jill Rankinen, Dem., took Humboldt Township Clerk.

Michigamme Township Supervisor was won by Alvar Maki, Dem. Jean Howe, Dem., won Township Clerk.

Marilyn Brancheau, Dem., won Republic Township Clerk.

Ely Township .2 mill request in support of the Iron Ore Heritage Trail did not pass. Ewing Township 3 mill renewal request for operations millage passed. Forsyth Township request for.4965 mills for library usage millage passed. Forsyth Township water revenue bond request for $5.5 million did not pass. Humboldt Township 1 mill renewal for Fire and EMS services passed. Humboldt Township 1 mill road millage renewal request passed. Humboldt Twp 1 mill sanitation renewal request passed. Ishpeming Schools operational 18.38 mill renewal passed. Marquette Township .9061 mill renewal request for library usage passed. Skandia Township 2.5 mill renewal for emergency services passed. Tilden Township .35 mill increase request for fire services passed. Tilden Township .65 mill increase for garbage services passed.
