Drunk Driver Crashes Into Ishpeming High School
Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Charges against the driver of an SUV that crashed into a wall at Ishpeming High School over the weekend will be formally filed later today.
Ishpeming Police say the incident happened just before 2:00 o’clock early Saturday morning when a southbound Jeep Cherokee went through the intersection of Third and Pearl streets and struck the north wall of the building.
Reports say the 29-year-old driver fled the scene but was arrested shortly after the incident at his home on New York Street in Ishpeming.
He was lodged in the Marquette County Jail on charges of Operating Under the Influence of Liquor, Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Attempted Resisting and Obstructing of Police.
No name has been released pending formal arraignment.
