Great NMU Sports Weekend

NMU LOGOAs mentioned in my U.P. Relevant Sports Week this week will feature a fantastic array of Northern Michigan Sports.  Both, the basketball teams and Hockey team, are home for a combined four games to be played at the Berry Events Center.  Be sure to get down there and support the green & gold.  The amount of fans at a game is vastly underrated.  What do you think a recruit on a campus visit thinks when he/she sees empty seats during a game?  I’ll tell you what they think:  “Where is my next visit going to be?”  Every athlete dreams of playing in front of a big crowd and hitting that big shot to an explosion of sound.  That doesn’t happen unless there are fans in the seats.  The women are 11-5 and near the top of the GLIAC, and while the men’s record may be a bit down, they have lost a lot of close games this year (five games within ten points).  The hockey team is right around .500, but have a winning conference record and are in need of a big series win this upcoming weekend.  So head on down to the Berry and cheer for your Wildcats!
