Tony Dutcher – On-Air Personality
Well now, I’m Tony Dutcher, the host of The Workday Wind Down here on Sunny 101.9 WKQS. I’ve been with Great Lakes Radio starting as a board op back in September 2010.
Monday-Friday 3p-7p and Saturday 3p-6p on Sunny 101.9 WKQS
I was born and raised just south of Houghton in the tiny town of Painesdale (home of the Jeffers Jets!) playing hockey throughout my youth before I caught the music bug and started playing bass when I was sixteen.
During the summer of 2006 I transferred from Michigan Tech to Northern Michigan and made the move to Marquette. I graduated with a degree in Media and New Technology out of the Communications department at Northern Michigan University. In school I enjoyed working in the local music scene as a sound-man for Standing O, 231 House Of Muses, playing a few shows, and recording local bands when I had a chance.
These days you can find me reading history, science-fiction or recording material. I also record, mix, and write music and I try to support the local music scene in the area as well.

Marquette, Michigan – Living in the U.P. offers up so many great opportunities. From the wild untamed beauty and year round recreation to incredible craft beer and “Good” People who care about their neighbors. But one of the best things about living in the Upper Peninsula has to be the food. I’ve eaten hundreds of […]
Harvey, MI – My Mother in Law asked me to help trim a large Red Pine that was leaning over her garage. The Pine stood tall, at almost 70ft and the winds were blowing as I buckled my harness and jumped into our bucket truck. I couldn’t wait to fire up my chain saw and […]
Marquette, MI – Presque Isle Park It was a beautiful weekend to spend sailing Lake Superior. Wind speeds hovered around 20 knots as we cruised past Black Rocks and around Sunset Point. There were quite a few brave swimmers enjoying the thrill of a jump off of black rocks. I felt the water and it […]
