Curtis – Curtis will host its 38th annual Independence Day celebration on Sunday, July 3 beginning at 10 a.m. with entertainment, the Lions Club chicken barbecue, a food and refreshment tent, children’s games, a rock climbing wall and more than 50 arts and craft booths, as well as a fireworks display at dusk.
“The Biggest Little Town Parade In Michigan” will begin at 12:30 p.m. The theme of the celebration will be “Honor Those Who Have Protected Us.” It will feature bagpipe bands, the Royal Canadian Legion brass band, the Navy League band, the Newberry High School band and the Petoskey High School steel drum band. All bands will play a short concert on grounds after the parade. Plaques are awarded for first place, runner up and honorable mention floats or units.
