Definition:

1. To pretend ignorance of or fail to take action against something one ought to oppose.

2. To be indulgent or in secret sympathy: to cooperate secretly or have a secret understanding.

3. To engage in secret scheming: conspire.

Sample sentence: Co-workers will connive against each other if they think it will benefit their own career.
