Winter in Marquette is beautiful! There’s nothing better than waking up to a fresh coat of snow blanketing the ground! It may not make driving very easy, but wintertime in Marquette is one of the reasons that I love living here!
There is an endless amount of things to do in the winter here, and I love all of it! There’s everything from winter camping to snowboarding to sledding and so much more, and I have a blast doing it all!
Don’t get me wrong, however, summers in Marquette are equally beautiful, but nothing beats being on the trail with my dog after a big snowstorm. She just loves to play and romp and bury herself in all the fresh snow, but I could do without all the shedding that she does this time of year!
However, the weather this year is starting to make me doubt if snow will ever come. We’ve had some snow this year, but I’m still waiting for the big snow that sticks around. I’ve lived in Marquette for over ten years, and I don’t remember the last time it was almost 60 degrees in mid November! I was able to ride my bike yesterday in a short-sleeved shirt and pants!
I absolutely cannot wait until that wonderful white stuff blankets everything, and I hope this unusually warm weather doesn’t stick around! Nothing beats the winter holidays with a fresh blanket of snow!
