Marquette – What a storm. They labeled it something like Toivo. It hit the U.P. with a vengeance.

Repair crews braved rain squalls and fast gusts of wind. Power was restored over night in Marquette, Negaunee, Ishpeming. But rural areas are dark and remain dark.

Listeners told us, as far as commercial stations in Marquette, only Great Lakes Radio Stations were on the air this morning. Listeners noticed that all the news was broadcast on WKQS Sunny101.9fm, the Country Extreme 103.3fm and 983-RUP. And they said Mark and Walt IN The Morning were very informed. Phoners this morning said the Sunny’s broadcast way better than what normally is broadcast by other stations in the Upper Peninsula.
