A Family Adventure

1728

We Evans’ like our adventures. Each year, for both Memorial Day and Labor Day, we hop in the car and take a little drive to somewhere in the U.P. to explore and enjoy everything that is around us.

In previous years we have visited Lake of the Clouds, the waterfalls on the Black River and Presque Isle River in Bessemer/Ontonagon, Copper Harbor, the Garden Peninsula, Kich-iti-kipi, Tahquemenon, the Soo, St. Ignace….you catch my drift.

This past Memorial Day was no different. But, this time, our drive only took us an hour. We spent the day popping around Munising and the surrounding Pictured Rocks area hunting for waterfalls. Now, I love waterfalls. I don’t care how many times I have seen the same fall, I will go again and again. Each time I stop, the falls look different. Water does that.

This trip, we visited Scott Falls just off M-28 as you pass AuTrain, Munising Falls, Miner Falls, and Horseshoe Falls. We also made a quick stop at AuTrain Falls on M-94 coming back into town.

There was a tasty lunch stop, a mini-golf throw down, and of course ice cream.

We love our adventures, and it’s always fun to explore just what is in our own backyard! So, gather up the kiddos, pack a day bag, and go goof off. You’ll find something fun, I promise!
