Hickory, NC – The interview expresses an opinion commonly expressed in some churches, at some public meetings, and on certain radio stations. Still, it is an opinion (though the guest insists it is fact) that is part of the thinking of many, including many that make public policy. Better understanding rarely comes from ignoring an issue. Learning as much about different points of view as possible often helps bring better understanding. So, in that spirit, to inform, this interview is being posted.
The views and opinions expressed by the guest are solely those of the guest and do not reflect the policy or opinions of our radio station, its host, or its parent company. The opinions expressed are entirely those of the author(s) of the book(s) and/or guest(s).
(From Press Release provided by Jerry McGlothlin of specialguests.com) – On Easter, a group of Islamic suicide bombers in Sri Lanka mutilated 800 people, mostly Christians and Buddhists, by simultaneously walking and driving into nine populated sites, including three churches and three hotels on Easter Sunday, murdering 300 of them. They would have senselessly ravaged more, but the six-foot-long pipe bomb they placed outside the airport in Colombo was found and defused. The government blocked access to Social Media immediately following the attacks. Joining us is author Craig Winn, a world expert on terrorism, to help us answer the two big questions looming of who would do such a thing and why?
From Press Release provided by Jerry McGlothlin:
Question: First, let’s address the question of Who committed these heinous acts?
Answer: The government of Sri Lanka blamed the bombings on Tamil Nadu Thowheed Jamath, of the Assembly for the Oneness of God.
Question: Now for the Why: Why in God’s name would anyone representing an organization with God’s name in it do such a thing?
Answer: That depends on which ‘god’ you are referring to. There is a common mistake in believe that Jews, Christians, and Muslims worship the same God. More on that later if time allows, but according to Wikipedia, The Assembly for the Oneness of God is “a non-political Islamic organization based in India and founded in 2004 which preaches true Islam to Muslims and non-Muslims while involved in social activities.” Their motto is “There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is the messenger of God.” Their focus is on “Preaching Islam.”
Question: Now let’s address the question of Why? Isn’t the core message of pure Islam one a message of love? And isn’t it just the radicals who have perverted the teachings of Muhammad? So, why would a group teaching pure Islam commit such violent, murderous acts?
Answer: (Craig gives detailed theological answer including how many times the word ‘love’ appears in the Quran, referencing from his 2000-page book, “Muhammad, Prophet of Doom,” a concordance that categorizes all Islamic scriptures contained in the Quran and Hadith.
Question: We know a lot about ISIS an al-Qaeda but what do we know about the Assembly for the Oneness of God? Are they a pure Muslim organization and are the Easter bombings their first acts of violence?
Answer: Previously, this group representing pure Islamic, not a radical offshoot or a watered-down religion, had only been known for desecrating Buddhist statues and local liquor stores, in addition for winning awards for blood donations. While this aspect is darkly ironic, this shift is more in alignment with what is called for is pure Islam.
What is the religious breakdown of Sri Lanka that might be contributing to this deadly clash?
Answer: Sri Lanka is 70% Buddhist, 13% Hindu, and 10% Muslim, with 1.5 million Roman Catholics. Less than ten years ago, Sri Lanka’s religious civil war ended after claiming 75,000 lives. But the religious breakdown doesn’t matter as much as to what the core doctrine of pure Islam commands a ‘good’ Muslim to do to those of opposing beliefs which is to wage Jihad, or ‘holy’ war, against all non-Muslims, particularly against moderate Muslims, who Muslim texts say are “worse than infidels” refusing to participate in ‘holy’ Jihad, a.k.a. murder. The over-arching question is: Why are fundamentalist Muslims responsible for 100% of suicide bombings such as 9/11 in the United States and 95% of terrorist acts worldwide?
ABOUT CRAIG WINN
After the events of September 11, Craig Winn began a research project with colleague Ken Power to “uncover the roots of terrorism”. They visited 120 countries and interviewed members of al-Qaeda, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Fatah, Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades, Force 17, the Palestinian Authority, the Knesset, IDF, and US generals, as well as Israeli secret service agents in the Mossad and Shin Bet. The two published their findings in the novel Tea with Terrorists.
Craig has subsequently written many more books on terrorism, religion, and government, available at YadaYah.com
Prior to becoming an author, Winn was a businessman who became an early dot com billionaire after founding the multi-billion-dollar dot-com company Value America, a predecessor of Amazon.com
