Most nights I go walking around Marquette, because I figure I should enjoy being able to walk around without freezing to death. On Friday night I went up through Northern Michigan University’s campus and came across the destruction of Carey Hall.
It was really strange to see the building gone, and a bit sad. I really liked the building and it had this charm to me. I guess I like older buildings for the character and the reminder of past times. It’s just a reminder of changing times I guess. Since then I’ve been walking by at night to just look at the pile of rubble.
I know up next is Jamrich Hall once the new building is built, which means I’ll have to go walking in there before it’s gone to in a few years.
