Negaunee, Michigan 08/28/2015 – The Negaunee Miners Football team faced the Manistique Emeralds tonight to open their season. Jesse Anderson and Brady Guilbault were in Negaunee, Michigan on this beautiful summer evening to bring you all the exciting football action, LIVE on Sunny.FM.
The Negaunee Miners kicked off to open the game tonight and converted their first drive into a touchdown scored by Austin Johnson, to give the Miners a 6-0 lead against the Manistique Emeralds on Sunny.FM. Austin Johnson scored the second touchdown of the game and with 2 point conversion the Negaunee Miners led 14-0 with the quarter half over. The Negaunee Miners could not be stopped and ended the first quarter with an impressive lead of 21-0 over the Manistique Emeralds with a touchdown in the final minutes from Brock Aho.
The Manistique Emeralds had a good drive to start the second quarter of the game, but fumbled the ball to give the Negaunee Miners possession. The Negaunee Miners were able to score on the drive with a touchdown from Brock Aho and took the lead 28-0. With only 4 minutes left in the quarter the Manistique Emeralds fumbled the ball and the Negaunee Miners were able to convert the play into another touchdown to take a 34-0 lead. Brock Aho scored another touchdown for the Negaunee Miners to end the first half of the game in the lead 40-0 against the Manistique Emeralds on Sunny.FM.
The Negaunee Miners started the second half strong and with a running clock scored their 7th touchdown and took the lead, 47-0 against the Manistique Emeralds in the first minutes of the third quarter. The third quarter ended with the Miners maintaining the lead 47-0 in Negaunee, Michigan.
The fourth quarter found the Negaunee Miners widening their lead in the last 3 minutes of the game 54-0 against the Manistique Emeralds. The Negaunee Miners walked away with the win and a shutout against the Manistique Emeralds to start the season.
