Negaunee, MI – It’s hard to believe that we’re less than a month away from another great season of Negaunee Miners Football. Last year the Miners had a successful season making it to the second round of the playoffs, but unfortunately, came up short against Boyne City.
The Miners have some tough positions to fill this year. Ryan Syrjala has been a great quarterback for the Miners these past few years and his replacement will have some tough shoes to fill. Other seniors leaving are Ryan Bischoff, Hunter Ridley, Cole Francis, Logan Streeter, Jason Bell, Luke Jacobson, Zach Harsila, Rob Loy, Jesse Godfrey, Ethan Ledford and Paul Davison. These are all names that Miners fans definitely will recognize as all these seniors played important roles for the Miners last season.
However, there are a lot of talented players returning this season. Ben Luke and Austin Johnson made a big impact offensively last year and look to be even bigger threats in their second year. Jacob Paquet, a sophomore last year returns as a junior and is a big help on the offensive line. There is plenty more talent that will rise from this Miners team as they look to get back in the playoffs once again this year.
